A Comparative Study of Flow DNA Analysis and Clinicopathologic Findings in Chondrosarcoma

Abstract
In a retrospective study of 26 chondrosarcomas, the prognostic significance of the cellular DNA content and different clinicopathologic factors was analyzed both separately an in combination. The relationship between these parameters was also
investigated.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. There were statistically significant correlations between 5 year-survival rate to DNA ploidy, an clinicopathological findings such as tumor location, histologic gradings.
2. relationship with DNA ploidy could be demonstrated not only between grade I and grade II, but also between distal and proximal cases, There were, however, not statistical correlations between DNA ploidies and tumor size.
3. Histologic grading was not associated with tumor size and tumor location.
4. Although the results indicated that DNA ploidy probably is not best indicator of the clinical course in chondrosarcoma, but combination of DNA ploidy with clinicopathologic factors including tuor location and histologic gradings seem to
provide
additional prognostic information.
In conclusion, although any oof the prognostic factors is not decisive, combined consideration of all these factors seems to provide not only valuable prognostic information, but also guidlines for treatment.
